a glimpse of heaven's love

Wow!  I can't believe how long it's been since I've written anything in my blog.  Not that a lot of people tune in to check out what I have to say...but it's the people that do tune in, and more importantly, those that need to hear some of the things I have to say, that make it all worthwhile! I have a question for you!  How have you been doing?  You --personally!  Are you doing good... or are you just pluggin' along?  Check your attitudes...check your emotions...they're a sure-fire way to see how you're really doing!  We tend to be a very emotional people.  If we're happy and excited...we show it.  If we're down and discouraged, we show that as well.  There's an old saying: we tend to "wear our heart on our sleeve."  (actually, it's from Shakespeare in Othello!)  It just means we tend to be very open with our emotions.  That's not always a good thing, particularly if you're down and discouraged.  Let m...

This is a photo of Niagara Falls copied from Bing Images online.  It speaks volumes of God's wondrous glory and power!  God's power--that is what I want to talk about today.  Here are some wonderful verses regarding just that: Zec. 4:6  "Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the Lord unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit , saith the Lord of hosts." 2 Sam. 22:40  "For Thou hast girded me with strength to battle: them that rose up against me hast Thou subdued under me." Dan. 11:32  "And such as do wickedly against the covenant shall he corrupt by flatteries: but the people that do know their God shall be strong , and do exploits." 2 Tim. 1:7  "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power , and of love , and of a sound mind ." __________________________________________ These are all excellent verses.  Meditate upon them for a little bit, if you would…and notice ...

"But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed."  James 1:14  What is it that motivates you? What is your deepest desire? What is your own way? Tragically, it has been my experience, that many Christians today are more prone to just go their own way, with no thought of what God desires of them.  Those are not the target of my blog today.  More than likely, unless the Holy Spirit is at least beginning to change their heart, they will not have a desire to read on.  And chances are, they are not truly saved anyway.  A real Christian isn't just playing church, but has the Holy Spirit of God living within them, guiding and convicting them to do right.  They are not my target audience.  You, however, that are not being drawn by temptation, but by God's grace,  desire to change -- YOU are my target audience! Ephesians 2:8-9   "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:  Not of works, lest any man should boast."     Romans 2:1-16   (vs. 2-3) "But we are sure that the judgment of God is according to truth against them which commit such things.  And thinkest thou…thou shalt escape the judgment of God?" God's judgment is always just in His dealings with man.  God is a loving and forgiving God; but He is a just God, as well.  He must be!  We never like to admit we're lost or in need of help.  We tend to be a very proud and independent people--but face it, we do need help.  We are in desperate need of God's help! Those things which you think you would never take part in, beware !  Satan knows your weaknesses and he will attack where you are weakest! There's a big difference between finding religion and trusting Christ as Saviour.  B...
