John 15:4-5
Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
The abiding relationship with Christ is the vine and branch intertwined in communion and strength that we might produce fruit and Christlike character which glorifies God.
Our relationship with Christ ought to be one of constant dependence and communion. Prayer is the natural outflow of that dependence and communion with Christ.
It has been said, "To be a Christian without prayer is no more possible than to be alive without breathing."

That we might abide
In Christ
